The founder, Marc Wilborn, has dual Business and Mathematics undergraduate degrees from the University of Kansas, plus a graduate degree in Statistics from the University of Iowa.  Marc is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and was an Enrolled Actuary. As an actuarial consultant with a national benefits consulting firm, he was responsible for the design and administration of 401k profit sharing plans for Fortune 1000 companies, plus several large public retirement plans.

FixedFee401k was created in response to the industry-wide lack of transparency and high costs found in the small to mid-size 401k market. Marc understands the limiting effects that high costs can have on participant account balances as they try their best to save for retirement. The 401k industry puts the employer at a disadvantage when trying to understand these costs as they have made it almost impossible to determine the true costs of the plan’s investments and administration.

While advances in technology have provided tools to better support and communicate these plans, we also believe that some aspects of a retirement savings experience requires a dedicated professional who works hard to form lasting relationships with both the plan sponsor and participants.
